Where the data comes from

Every product on this site comes from the public product data of the shop that sells it. A script reads it once a day. We do not test products ourselves, and we do not publish ratings, rankings or "best of" lists we could not back with measurements.

How figures are read

Seats, power, voltage, current, wood, size, height and wall thickness are taken from the product title, the size options, the structured product attributes or the product description. Next to each product you can open "Where these figures come from" and read the exact words the shop used. If a description names two different values for the same thing, or only a range across models, we leave the figure out rather than guess, and the card says "not stated".

Prices

Prices are the shop's listed price on the day shown on the card, including the taxes the shop includes, before delivery. Sales and stock change often; the shop's page always wins.

Electricity prices and rules

US electricity prices come from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, UK prices from the Ofgem price cap, planning and building rules for England from the published legislation on legislation.gov.uk. Each page names its sources and the date we checked them.

Mistakes

If you spot a wrong figure, tell us at the address in the imprint and we will fix the reading rule, not just the one product.
