# Heat & Timber

> Independent site with finders and running-cost calculators for home saunas, cold plunges, hot tubs and garden buildings in the US and the UK: 1277 listings from 14 shops. Each specification read from a shop's text carries an excerpt of its words, and each price carries the time it was read from the shop.

Use of this site and its data is free with attribution: name Heat & Timber and link the page or file you used. Terms in plain words: https://heatandtimber.com/ai. Machine-readable licence (RSL 1.0): https://heatandtimber.com/license.xml. Excerpts from shops, product photos, shop, brand and product names, and the texts of legislation and model codes stay with their owners.

Heat & Timber earns a commission from some of the shops it lists and, on its US finders, from Amazon, at no extra cost to the buyer. The data files contain no paid links, no Amazon links, no shop addresses and no photos. The field url of every record is the product page on heatandtimber.com, which quotes the shop's listing, links to the shop and, in a browser, asks the shop for the current price when it is opened.

Prices in the files are those of our last reading of each shop, several times a day, and carry checked_at in UTC. In specs, null or an empty cell means the shop's listing does not state a clear value; the schema gives the meaning of null for every field. Each product page has a JSON record at the same address with .json added. Our host answers requests with the default User-Agent of Python's urllib or of libwww-perl with HTTP 403; a User-Agent of your own avoids that.
